Audiobook Theater privacy policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026 ยท Current closed alpha

Who we are

Audiobook Theater is developed by Cybertech Studios. Contact support@cybertechstudios.dev for privacy questions.

Your content and local data

The current app requires no account for local use. Books, listening statistics, preferences, metadata, journals, reviews, and any locally generated outputs are intended to remain on your device unless you enable optional cloud backup as described below. We do not upload your library to a developer-operated service.

Removing a book retains its local statistics and history. Uninstalling removes local app-private data, but may not remove original files you selected, exported files, backups, or information already sent to support.

Optional cloud backup

Cloud backup is optional and requires your opt-in. If you enable it, your use of Google's cloud storage is subject to Google's applicable terms, privacy policies, and storage limits. When local lock screen protection is enabled, your data is protected automatically by end-to-end encryption to prevent Google or any third-party from snooping on your data.

Cloud backup stores listening history, statistics, achievements, and other app metadata to help you retain or restore that information when upgrading your device or following local data loss or corruption. Your audiobook media files and companion e-books are not uploaded by this backup feature.

Current diagnostics

The current alpha does not implement developer-integrated Firebase Analytics or automated Crashlytics reporting. This statement concerns our app integration, not diagnostics independently handled by Android or Google Play under their own settings and policies.

Future diagnostics

Optional crash reporting is planned, not currently available. Before enabling it, we will update this policy, provide an opt-in notice, and offer controls under Settings → Analytics. Planned reports include technical crash information such as stack traces, device model, and Android/app version. We intend to exclude book content, input text, AI prompts, and results.

If Firebase Crashlytics is introduced, Google will process diagnostic information on our behalf. Its documented retention for crash traces and associated identifiers is 90 days before removal begins. Disabling future uploads does not automatically erase previously uploaded reports. Final data fields, SDK behavior, and deletion procedures will be disclosed before release.

Support

Information voluntarily sent to support is used to troubleshoot and communicate with you. Support correspondence is retained for 90 days after the request is resolved. We do not sell information or use it for advertising. Hosting and email service providers may process correspondence on our behalf.

Audience and choices

The app is designed for adults and does not supply books. Users provide their own content. Do not send children's personal information to support. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing us; we may need to verify the request. Removing the app does not delete support correspondence.

Changes

Additional online integrations and AI features are planned. Their data handling will be described when implemented. We will update this policy when practices change and provide notices or consent where required.
